IBL at Tokai Gyosei
2026.04.17
Second-year students gathered in the auditorium during fifth period today to receive a lecture on IBL (Inquiry-Based Learning). Last year, students worked hard to decide what they wanted to base their research on. This year, they will continue developing their research based on those chosen topics.
Mr. Sakajiri encouraged students to dig deeper to understand WHY students chose their topic/question. These days, we want to know the answers to everything immediately. However, IBL helps us grow in the skill of asking questions. Mr. Sakajiri said that a good question should not just end with an immediate answer, but actually lead to even more questions.
The goal is for them to gain a better understanding of IBL, practice creating meaningful questions, and explore how it can enrich their learning experience. I wonder what discoveries will be made over the next year. There are many unique topics, so we are all excited to see the results of their work.
